Keith was an early member of Liverpool's 'Stormalong John' shanty group and appeared with them at shanty and maritime festivals throughout Europe and the UK and on recordings, often with the famous shantyman, Stan Hugill. Bernie performed for over ten years with concertina player, Andy Kenna, as the duo, 'Liverpool Forebitter'. They were regulars at many of the top UK festivals and appeared at a number of European events. They also made several recordings, notably 'Salt Water Ballads', a selection of John Masefield's sea poems, set to music by Andy, which they also performed as a show, to considerable critical acclaim. Early in 2004, Bernie and Keith formed 'Liverpool Packet', a very lively combination which immediately began to make an impact on the shanty scene. Since then. Keith and Bernie have performed at a number of shanty festivals and maritime events and have held school workshops about the songs and life of the oldtime sailor man
